Below is a compilation of a detailed and comprehensive overview of the number of employees and their monthly wages / salaries* with respect to age and gender in 3 different sets of sectors in Luxembourg. This data is collected by EuroStat every 4 years and the data below is representative from 2014. The data for 2018 is awaited and would be updated once available.

Industry and Construction

The ‘Industry and Construction’ sector broadly emcompassed

  • Manufacturing,
  • Mining and quarrying,
  • Construction,
  • Other industries

and together had over 63,900 employees in 2014.

The breakdown of number of employees in terms of age and gender shown below has been ’rounded-off’ to the nearest multiple of 10.

The monthly wages / salaries (* 4 weeks of work at 40h per week) is for the same group of employees as shown above. The monthly wages are shown as a range where the lower limit is equivalent to the income of the lowest 10% earners (first decile) and the upper limit is the income of the highest 10% earners (ninth decile). The wages shown here are ’rounded off’ to the nearest multiple of 10.
